Karen M. King ’94
Karen M. King is a Managing Director and the Chief Legal Officer for Silver Lake, the global leader in technology investing, with over $23 billion in combined assets under management and committed capital. King joined Silver Lake in 2004 and oversees a team located in Silicon Valley, New York, London and Hong Kong. She is integrally involved in all aspects of the firm’s business, including risk management, firm policy making, fundraising, deal execution, portfolio monitoring and development, and liquidity.
Prior to joining Silver Lake, King worked at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, where she focused on capital markets transactions, including initial public offerings and high yield debt financings, and mergers and acquisitions, including private equity transactions.
King earned her bachelor’s degree in public policy studies from Duke University and her law degree from Harvard Law School. She also serves on the board of the San Jose Repertory Theater.
